Mode of Action
Heparin inhibits thrombin formation, promotes fibrinolysis and helps absorption of the more superficial microthrombi Benzyl Nicotinate, by vasodilation, enhances local heparin absorption. The process of healing is substantially promoted thereby and pain is rapidly alleviated.
Indications
Acceleration of absorption of haematoma and other inflammatory infiltration e.g. Thrombophlebitis, superficial thrombosis, acute tendovaginitis, superficial bruises, etc
For percutaneous heparin therapy
Each g contains:
Heparin Sodium IP 50 I U
Benzyl Nicotinate 2 mg
Preservative 1.97 mg
Sorbic Acid IP
Excipients q.s.

Direction for Use
Following the physician’s recommendations THROMBOPHOB Ointment is carefully and thinly applied to the skin, 2 to 3 times daily The ointment may also be spread on a piece of gauze which is placed over the area affected. Rubbing in or massaging should be avoided in thrombosis and thrombophlebitis In uicus cruris THROMBOPHOB Ointments applied only to the ulcer margins. It is advisable to continue the treatment for some days after the subsidence of the morbid manifestations. The reddening of the skin which follow the application of THROMBOPHOB Ointment is a sign of desired augmentation blood perfusion caused by Benzyl nicotinate. Mucous membranes especially the conjunctiva must not come in contact with THROMBOPHOB
